I've been searching for the stork-billed kingfisher (Pelargopsis capensis) for weeks and weeks. Today, not only does he make an appearance, he made sure I took his picture from all angles. I think word got out about the bird pictures here amongst the kingfisher community, and they want to make sure they get their colourful mugs on the internet too (they don't want to lose out to the herons).

Those are two beautiful pictures of a Stork-billed Kingfisher. You're lucky to have seen it. Where did you take this? On our visit to India last year we saw Common, White-Throated and Pied, but unfortunately no Stork-billed.
The stork-billed kingfisher lives in the trees surrounding a lake on our campus in Universiti Sains Malaysia, Penang, Malaysia.
We also have white-throated kingfishers, and possibly another species too which I have yet to take a picture of.
The stork-billed kingfisher is a beauty. Today's photography session was fruitful indeed.
